For my Design Challenge with Crafty Creations Anything Goes Challenge #343 this week we have as our proud sponsors, Cute as a Button Digi Stamps. They are adorable! Check them out!

I chose Sassy and Me because I just love the puppy, Sassy!  This digi stamp arrived to me in JPEG format. She was easy to fussy cut but to stamp her, I had a mountain of problems… my printer went out and died! Since I needed a new printer, I did some research and got an Epson Stylus 1500dw. Yes, it is an inkjet but I had no problems with smearing and it took my 80# cardstock beautifully!

Anyway, I wanted to put them in a position as if they were stepping out of a frame, so I sketched in a French street. Since the attention needs to be on the girl I made sure that the background was very simple with splashes of color.

I decided not to add a sentiment on the outside but have “Hello gorgeous” on the inside.

I think she’s adorable! Enjoy and check out Cute as a Button digi stamps!

Dragon Flyby Birthday Greetings

Hello all,

As I was watching some card making videos for inspiration and to learn new techniques, I came across K Werner Design where she was showing how to make a suspended shaker card. She said she got her idea from Jennifer McGuire. I have put cut out into a shaker and have had no problem with the object turning but I like this idea because it could really make the cut-out fly.

Since I received MFT’s Magical Dragons, I can’t stop using them. They are whimsical and lend to all types of cards.  I also love shaker cards so I thought to give this a try. I was working on a rainbow card (separate) but decided to use it in this one.

I like the white on white with a shot of color in the middle. It makes the card pop but since just white on the base card tends to be too blah I went ahead and embossed it using a Sizzix birthday embossing folder that I have had since who can remember.

The dragon moves as if flying..

The background clouds were make using distress ink and a template cut from Fawn Lawn’s cloud border. The rainbow was cut from Simon Says Sentimental Circles. The dragon and rainbow are colored in Copic pens. The shaker bits are items found in the local sewing and Chinese shops here in Italy.  I found that the small pearls and crystals that are used in nail art are perfect for shakers. They are cheaper than I can get them online at card making supply stores.

Crafting by Designs April Challenge

Ciao a tutti,

Ciao!
