Happy Valentine’s Day to all! The other day I was watching a video by Sandy Allnock (I just love her!) and her kraft paper, Copic and pencil pieces. I was inspired. In a way, they reminded me of Jane Allen’s coloring techniques and that was all I needed to get back in the saddle (so to speak). Sandy was using some of Mo Manning’s stamps and I have had Tea Party for a while and thought this is a good time to get it out and challenge myself.

I used Neenah Desert Storm cardstock (so did Sandy Allnock), stamped the first card in a light brown ink and had a lot of fun. I left my Prisma pencils in the states but used my Inktense pencils. The second one I tried to use a light pink pigment ink and turn out horrible and, as a result, did not make it ti the final cut :), and the third card I used a light gray pigment ink to stamp with.

I like how they turned out and that they just pop out at you! Leave me a note….I would love to hear what you think.

Now that the Christmas holidays are behind us and the blahs of February are upon us the only “highlight” is the day for so-called lovers; yes, Valentine’s Day; named after the Saint, Valentino, from 3rd century Rome,  (See http://www1.cbn.com/st-valentine-real-story) for more info.

Since I have been crazy busy as of late, I really have done no cards…literally…zero, zip, nada… Not good, so today I hunkered down to do something and churned these simple cards out.

As part of the Crafty Creations Design Team, we were given a Bugaboo stamp with which to create a  card. I have been thinking a lot lately about my two sisters back in the states. One year we took a ballet class and on recital night we had our tutus on and lined up for a photo. I took that photo as inspiration for this card.

I adore these digi stamps! They are so delightful! I chose the little Ballerina Brat because how cute it was! As it comes in a .png  file I overlapped them and changed the sizes of all three (don’t you just love the flexibility of digi stamps?)

I like how it turned out. Hope you do too!

In keeping with the theme of skating, I made this card using dies from my stash. For the background I used Memory Box Swirling Snowflakes die and Tim Holtz’s Alterations Ice Skate.

I modified the skate by layering different papers to give the impression of a skate and laced it up by punching holes in the tongue area of the skate. I like how it turned out.

Just skating by to say hi and wishing all a Merry Christmas.  Love this slider card and used MFT ‘a Polar Bear stamp set. I just adore this skating one! It is simple in its design but pull the tab and he skates across the ice and into your heart.

Still getting on with my Christmas cards. I came across this digi stamp and loved it simplicity. I colored it with Copic markers, added Wink of Stella to make the star and other parts sparkle. It was rather bland and needed something else….

I saw on Wendy Bellino’s blog where she used UTEE on a marvelous candy cane star and got inspiration! While I don’t have UTEE, I do have clear embossing powder so I covered the whole image in clear powder 3 times. It really brought out the colors!

I really like its simplicity. Enjoy!

During the Black Fridays sales, I received an email with discounts for Tiddly Inks digital stamps…and, of course, I had to buy some. I just adore them and when I download the .png file, I can place them how I like.

It’s been busy here and just coloring these calms me down. I used wink of stella and some glossy accents on them to make them pop. Not sure if you can see it or not…

Now, I just need to write my greetings and send them out.

Hello,

Playing around with some stamps that I had bought last year but used very little (not sure why I don’t use them because they are so darn cute!)

I am terrible that I don’t make more cards using my Misti to make more than one….I guess it just a short attention span 😛 but then I don’t get as many cards out as I should (especially since Christmas is around the corner).

I am avoiding Black Friday sales as I really need to learn to use what I already have and my stuff is overflowing.

I wanted to do some cards that send hugs to those near and dear to me. I used the Cuddly Critters koala and stamped over and over again. Colored with Copics and added googly eyes on one of them and changed the eyes on the other.

The last two weeks, I have been itching to try something different and so far I really, really like how things are turning out!

I bought some wool tops and have begun to felt by both wet method and dry. The wet method is almost like painting with wool…then it’s fun to go in and embellish with freehand machine embroidery.

and then dry felting…I made this little mouse this evening….
